How many parties can you do on one night? Last week there was a virtual black out in the windows of West London – everyone was out ‘n about. At the Animal Ball, held at Victoria House in Bloomsbury the great and the fashionable good donned animal masks (zebras, monkeys and white peacocks – they were all there) and gathered to raise money for a mix of animal conservation charities. Pop star Ellie Goulding poked her way through wearing antlers while royalty was present in the form of Princess Eugenie, fashion was represented by Mario Testino and designer Leon Max, while a dash of euro swans, Tatiana Casiraghi and Eugenie Niarchos added some extra plumage.
Over at the august Guildhall, Save the Children were hosting their Roald Dahl-themed Winter Gala. A dinner with Dominic West was up for grabs in the auction while the guests included model Poppy Delevingne and actress Joely Richardson. And earlier in the evening, Vogue had co-hosted the opening of the new £83million home of the Design Museum; it’s not often that the American Ambassador and Pop star progeny Anais Gallagher are at the same party. Humanity is an ocean, as Gandhi said, after all.
